Daytona Enterprise: IDP Management and UX Improvements

This week's release brings improvements to identity provider management and user experience. Let's dive into the new features and give you a glimpse of what's coming next.

What's New in This Release

Centralized Identity Provider Management

We've introduced a new feature in the admin dashboard: centralized management of identity providers. Admins can now easily add, configure, and manage supported identity providers directly within Daytona Enterprise. This includes:

  • Setting up client credentials

  • Configuring base URLs

  • Controlling whether an identity provider is used for account linking only or full authentication

Default Workspace Class Selection

Users can now set their preferred default workspace class in the user settings. This streamlines the workspace creation process by pre-selecting the chosen class in the Workspace Creation Wizard, saving time and reducing clicks.

Non-Dev Container Workspace Creation Option

We've added flexibility to workspace creation with a new option to ignore existing dev container configurations. Even when a Git repository includes a dev container file, users can now choose to create a workspace using the base image instead.

Coming Soon

We're not slowing down! Here's what we're working on for the near future:

  1. Team Subscription Refactor: We're making significant changes to how team subscriptions work to improve clarity and functionality.

  2. Audit Logging: Enhance security and traceability with comprehensive audit logging capabilities.

  3. Role-Based Access Control: We're expanding the user management panel in the admin dashboard to include user groups and role assignments, providing more granular control over user permissions.

We're committed to continually improving Daytona Enterprise based on your feedback and needs. These updates reflect our dedication to enhancing security, flexibility, and user experience across the platform.

Stay tuned for more exciting features in our weekly releases. As always, we're here to answer any questions you might have about these updates or upcoming features.
